•When did you begin to exercise and why: I first-l. started
exercising three years ago to improve my baseball skills. I started
playing baseball in Little League and I am one of the starting pitchers
for the Exeter American Legion baseball team.
• What type do you do: I lift weights at least two times a week
at the Wyomissing Health Club in Wyomissing, stretch every day and
participate in tai chi chuan and wing chun kung fu at the Eastern
Arts and Holistic Health Academy in Mount Penn.
•Hardest hurdle to overcome: Finding adequate time while attending
school to maintain a consistent workout schedule.
•Biggest exercise achievement: Being named a starting pitcher
for an American Legion baseball team. I won six games and lost one
last summer when I was 15 years old.
• How exercise helps you: Tai chi chuan taught me how to focus
on muscle movements and relaxation for specific-sport related activities.
Exercise helps me prepare mentally and physically for my daily activities
and prevents injury.
•Tip to others: Hard work and determination will provide excellent
results in your exercise program. Use
proper techniques and form to insure safety and receive maximum results
while maintaining a consistent rou-
tine.
